Real Madrid are looking to sign shot-stopper Hugo Lloris during the summer transfer window. This is after manager Zinedine Zidane disagreed with Fiorentina Perez over signing David De Gea.
Real had almost signed De Gea during the summer of 2015, before deadline day paperwork issues scuppered the move. De Gea went on to sign a contract extension that holds him at Old Trafford till 2019. But according to reports from Telegraph, president Fiorentina Perez is still interested in the Spaniard. But manager Zidane reportedly disagrees.
Zidane reportedly isn’t interested in matching the £43million price tag United put on De Gea. Instead, he is looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris.
Even though Zidane would prefer Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois, Real management have decided Lloris would be easier to lure.
Interestingly, Lloris has recently signed a contract till 2020, which pays him £100,000-a-week. Yet, his displeasure at Spurs for not being in the knockout stages of the Champions League has been noted at Madrid.
Real will now look to offer him even twice his present salary, Champions League football and a chance to be part of a star-studded team. Courtois, six years Lloris’ junior, has recently claimed that he is happier than he has ever been at Chelsea.
The Blues are almost certain to win the Premier League this season, and manager Antonio Conte has given them a fresh lease of life. Chelsea management will surely offer the Belgian a contract extension soon.
